Well, in some shape or other, I'm online. I downloaded a Dreamweaver trial
and spent about 15 minutes screwing with it, then decided that if I was going to
bother to learn a new program from the ground up, I might as well just dive
straight into HTML and do it by hand. Brilliant idea, the success or lack
thereof in realization of which should be readily apparent to anyone who finds
this sitee.
Basically, nothing works. The lettering undernieth the logo up top will
eventually link to corresponding pages, but as the pages don't exist at the
moment I didn't bother to write in links that wouldn't go anywhere. I've got
front and back shots of all of my guitars (and corresponding thumbnails) ready
to go, so maybe if I feel up to it I'll try to hack together a Gear page later
on tonight, but as the water gave way to beer (Mackeson's XXX, possibly the
world's greatest stout) and the beer to bourbon (Knob Creek, also not half bad)
since I've started, I'm going to go out on a proverbial limb here and say
odds aren't good. The formatting is tentative at best - I've been on an Opeth
kick of late which explains the general ambience, and I'm debating switching
from table-driven layout to straight CSS. I'll probably code this from the ground
up five or six times before I get something that i only have to tweak, not
destroy.
So, for the time being, you can...
Listen to a similarly rough demo of a song that'll probably make the upcoming
CD here. It's
basically just a rough backing I threw together to work out solo ideas, with a
one-take improv I threw down over the top for kicks. It's pretty rough, and the
ending in particular is a trainwreck, but it was fun.
Tell me how to indent the leading line of a paragraph using HTML. I'm a
former American Lit major, unindented paragraphs kill me.
Laugh at me for including a list. When I first saw the "list" tutorial in
my copy of "HTML for Dummies," I thought it was the most idiotic thing ever. Yet,
here I am. I might make a point of including a list in every news update I post
here, simply out of spite.
